Reducing Cancer Risk: Bird's Nest Stewed with Orange

December 25, 2023

Today I'm going to introduce the latest research findings from Australian scientists, which were just announced in December: eating an orange every day can reduce the incidence of oral, esophageal, and gastric cancer by half. So how do we make "bird's nest stewed with orange"?

Name:

Bird's Nest Stewed with Orange

Ingredients:

5g bird's nest, 1 orange, some rock sugar, some water

Instructions:

1. Soak the bird's nest in cold water for 5-6 hours, remove feathers and impurities, and rinse clean.

2. Wash the orange with detergent or toothpaste. Cut off the bottom of the orange so that it can stand steadily.

3. Cut open the top of the orange to make a lid. Remove some of the orange flesh to make space for the bird's nest.

4. Put the bird's nest into the orange and add a little water.

5. Cover the orange with the lid and place it in a bowl or stewing pot. Add rock sugar and water, about half a bowl. The excavated orange flesh can also be stewed together in the bowl.

6. Steam over water in a pot (or directly stew in a stewing pot) for 2 hours before serving.

Nutritional Value:

Oranges have the effects of promoting bowel movements, regulating qi, resolving phlegm, aiding digestion, stimulating appetite, relieving nausea, relieving pain, and stopping coughing. They can be used to treat chest stuffiness, abdominal distension, vomiting, constipation, urinary obstruction, and bleeding hemorrhoids, as well as detoxifying fish and crab toxins.

Oranges are rich in various organic acids and vitamins, which can regulate human metabolism and are particularly beneficial for the elderly and cardiovascular patients.

The orange peel contains fruit acid, which can stimulate the appetite and help digestion for people with insufficient stomach acid.

The fiber in oranges can help with bowel movements and reduce cholesterol. Oranges are rich in vitamin C, which has anti-cancer effects.

Beauty method with oranges: Take a fresh orange, wash and peel it, slice it, remove the seeds, and apply it to the face. Do this once a day for 20 minutes each time. It can remove facial pigmentation and treat melasma.
