【Morphology of Pubaogen】
Pubaogen, also known as triangular grass, water three-cornered grass, silky grass, and triangular observation. It is a perennial herbaceous plant, 60-100cm tall. The rhizome is thick and short, with slender roots. The stems are clustered, relatively thick and strong, with sharp triangular shape, and have 2 leaf sheaths at the base, without leaf blades.
The bract is erect, 3-14cm long. The spikelets are 2-9, clustered into head-like inflorescences, falsely axillary, ovoid or elongated ovoid, 8-16mm long, 4-6mm wide, with numerous flowers;

The glume is long ovate, 4-5mm long, light brown, with short tips at the apex, 1 central vein, and reddish-brown short stripes on both sides; 6 lower bristles, nearly equal in length to the nutlet, with backward thorns;
There are 3 stamens, with linear anthers; 3 stigmas. The nutlet of Pubaogen is broadly ovoid, flattened triangular, 2-2.5mm long, shiny when ripe, brownish-black, with indistinct wrinkles. Its flowering and fruiting period is from May to September.
【Habitat and Distribution】 Pubaogen grows in ditches, ponds, lake shores, and grasslands along streams. It is widely distributed throughout the country except for Xinjiang and Tibet.
【Harvesting and Storage】 Pubaogen is harvested in autumn, washed clean, and used fresh or dried.

1. For hot urinary disorders and urinary difficulties: 30g Pubaogen, 30g Shiwei, 30g Haijinsha. Decoction and take orally.
2. For damp-heat vaginal discharge: 30g Pubaogen, 30g Sanbaicao. Decoction and take orally.
3. For toothache caused by stomach fire: 15g Pubaogen, 15g bitter buckwheat, 15g Digu Pi, 15g Mugwort. Decoction and take orally.
