Xueshan Yizhihao, a Chinese herbal medicine, is the rhizome of the plant Aconitum gymnandrum, which belongs to the family Ranunculaceae. It is mainly distributed in Tibet and other regions. It has the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation, and treating injuries. It is commonly used for joint and bone pain caused by wind-cold-dampness, blood stasis pain caused by bruises, and insect and snake bites.
(1) Inducing Vomiting
For patients who have recently been poisoned, are conscious, and are able to cooperate, they can be made to drink a large amount of warm water (about 500ml) and then stimulate the back of the throat with a finger to induce vomiting. If the effect is not good, the patient can be given a decoction of Benduo Tang or Daji Jiaji Shui Tang to induce vomiting. This method can be repeated, but it should not be used for patients who have been poisoned for a long time and have a severe condition.
(2) Promoting Bowel Movement
Generally used as a complementary treatment after inducing vomiting, 3-5 pills of Liuwei Nengxiao Wan can be taken or 1-5g of powdered rhubarb root can be added for bowel movement. This method should be used with caution for patients with weak constitution or a history of gastrointestinal ulcers.
(3) Medication
In Tibetan medicine, the treatment of Xueshan Yizhihao poisoning generally follows the steps of collecting, eliminating, and excreting to achieve thorough treatment. However, for acute poisoning, detoxifying drugs such as Jinhe Qingdu San, Wangri Jiedu Wan, Shierwei Shanglu Kacasa, and Shisanwei Honghua Kacasa can be directly taken for neutralization and resolution.
(4) Symptomatic Treatment
Symptoms such as restlessness, palpitations, shortness of breath, arrhythmia, coma, and weakness in the later stages of treatment can be treated according to the condition.
