The Medicinal Value and Planting Method of Qingmuxiang: A Guide to Growing Aristolochia Debilis

December 25, 2023

When it comes to Qingmuxiang, many people may not be familiar with it. In fact, Qingmuxiang has a very high medicinal value, and we occasionally use it in our daily lives. Now let's learn about the efficacy and function of Qingmuxiang!

  1. Growth Environment

The plant of Qingmuxiang, Aristolochia debilis, likes a moist and warm climate, and can tolerate cold temperatures. It prefers moist and fertile sandy soil or humus soil.

Before planting, organic fertilizer should be applied to the soil and mixed with a suitable amount of wood ash. In dry seasons, irrigation should be done before sowing, and sowing can be carried out after the soil is sufficiently moistened.

  2. Planting Method

Aristolochia debilis is mainly propagated by sowing, but it can also be propagated by division. Here we mainly introduce the method of sowing. In early spring of April, sow the seeds of Aristolochia debilis on the seedbed.

Before sowing, soak the seeds in warm water at about 35 degrees Celsius for ten minutes. After removing the seeds, mix them with wet sand and put them in a cloth bag. Then bury the bag in a sunny pit.

  3. Germination and Transplanting

The seeds in the pit can germinate in about 15 days. At this time, evenly scatter the germinated seeds in a trench about 2cm deep, cover them with about 2cm of soil, and sprinkle with a suitable amount of water to keep the soil moist.

When Qingmuxiang seedlings grow to about 15cm in height, they need to be transplanted again.
