Delicious and Pressure-Lowering Foods for Hypertension Control

7. Steamed Mushroom and Carp

Ingredients: 100g shiitake mushrooms, 500g live carp, 50g cooked bamboo shoots, scallions, ginger, salt, cooking wine, peanut oil, as needed.

Instructions: Wash the shiitake mushrooms with cold water, remove the stems, and soak in warm water until soft. Cut the scallions into sections and thin strips, and slice the ginger into thin strips. Scale and gut the carp, remove the gills, and wash thoroughly. Marinate the carp with cooking wine, salt, scallion sections, and ginger slices for a while. Discard the scallions and ginger, then place the shiitake mushroom slices and cooked bamboo shoot slices on the fish, and top with ginger and scallion strips. Steam over high heat for about 15 minutes, then remove from the steamer. Add a little more scallion strips and pour hot peanut oil over the fish.

Usage: Serve as a dish with meals.

8. Steamed Chicken with Red Goji Berries

Ingredients: 15g goji berries, 1 mother and child chicken (about 1500g), ginger, scallions, clear soup, salt, cooking wine, pepper, monosodium glutamate, as needed.

Instructions: After slaughtering the chicken, remove the feathers, gut, and cut off the claws. Rinse with boiling water, then rinse with cold water and drain. Clean the goji berries, cut the ginger into large slices, and cut the scallions into sections. Put the goji berries in the chicken belly, place the chicken in a jar (with the abdomen facing up), arrange the ginger slices and scallion sections on top, pour in clear soup, add salt, cooking wine, pepper, seal with a damp cotton paper, steam over high heat for about 2 hours, then immediately remove from the steamer, remove the cotton paper, and season.

9. Shredded Chicken with Celery

Ingredients: 100g chicken breast, 200g celery, salt, monosodium glutamate, sesame oil, as needed.

Instructions: Wash the chicken breast, cook it, and shred it. Remove the roots and leaves from the celery, wash and cut into sections, blanch in boiling water. Put the celery in a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, salt, monosodium glutamate, and sesame oil, mix well.

10. Mushroom, Sponge Gourd, and Red Goji Pork Slices

Ingredients: 150g fresh mushrooms, 150g pork tenderloin, 100g tender sponge gourd, 50g carrot, 10g goji berries, clear soup, salt, monosodium glutamate, ginger juice, pepper, as needed.

Instructions: Wash the fresh mushrooms with cold water, remove the stems, and cut into thick slices. Cut the carrot into thin slices, blanch in boiling water. Wash the pork tenderloin, cut into thin slices. Peel and wash the sponge gourd, cut into sections. Clean the goji berries and wash. Place the clear soup in a saucepan over high heat, bring to a boil, then add the mushroom slices, sponge gourd sections, pork slices, goji berries, salt, monosodium glutamate, and ginger juice. Cook until the liquid is reduced, sprinkle with a little pepper, transfer to a plate, and drizzle with sesame oil.
