(3) It inhabits the edge areas where geothermal fluctuations intersect with grasslands and deserts. It lives in colonies. The caves are mostly built on highlands or slopes, with mounds outside the entrance. Its diet consists of grass roots and seeds.
(4) This species is one of the representative species in the sub-alpine meadow zone. It inhabits alpine meadows and densely grown grasslands. It lives in caves and also prefers colonies. There are yellow pika mounds near the cave entrance. Its main diet includes plants from the Cyperaceae and Poaceae families.
2. Distribution of Resources
(1) It is distributed in Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, Tibet, and other regions.
(2) It is only distributed in the northern part of Xinjiang.
(3) It is distributed in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia and the northern part of Xinjiang.
(4) It is distributed in the western and southern parts of Xinjiang.
