The leaves are alternate, slightly round, 8-13 cm long, 6.5-13 cm wide, palmately 5-lobed, with wide lanceolate lobes at the apex, heart-shaped at the base, with irregular serrations along the edges, smooth and hairless on the upper surface, and densely covered with long hairs along the veins on the lower surface. The petiole is 6-10 cm long, densely covered with fine thorns and long hairs. The stipules are deeply lobed.

Several flowers are clustered in the leaf axils, without stalks. The calyx has 5 lobes, lanceolate in shape, and hairy on the outside. The petals are 5, pale yellow. There are many stamens and pistils. The aggregate fruit is spherical and red. Flowering period is from May to June.
