Two Simple Recipes Using Five-Claw Wind for Health

Five-Claw Wind is the whole herb of the Rosaceae plant, Potentilla chinensis, which is mainly distributed in Sichuan and Guizhou provinces in China. It can be used to treat various diseases. Below, I will recommend two ways to consume Five-Claw Wind.


Method 1: Five-Claw Wind Buddha's Hand Lean Pork Soup

Ingredients: 250g lean pork, 60g Five-Claw Wind, 10g Buddha's Hand, salt, and appropriate amount of water.

Instructions: Chop the Five-Claw Wind; wash the Buddha's Hand; wash and cut the lean pork into pieces. Put all the ingredients into a pot;

Add an appropriate amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 1-2 hours. Season with salt and it's ready to serve.

Method 2: Five-Claw Wind Pig's Trotters Soup

Ingredients: 1 pig's trotter, 100g Five-Claw Wind, 5 red dates.

Instructions: Wash the Five-Claw Wind and red dates (remove pits); scrape off the hair from the pig's trotter, remove the hooves, wash and cut into pieces. Boil the trotter in boiling water for ten minutes, then remove and rinse with clean water.

Put all the ingredients into a pot, add an appropriate amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for 2-3 hours. Season and serve.
