Natural Remedies for Passing Kidney Stones: A Medicated Diet Approach

December 21, 2023

Kidney stones are a common condition in daily life. The treatment methods vary depending on the size of the stones formed in the body. Generally, if the stones are less than one centimeter, patients can rely on drinking water and jumping to help pass the stones. However, if the stones are larger than one centimeter, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is needed, followed by self-passing of the stones. However, this external shock wave lithotripsy can cause certain damage to the kidneys. Therefore, the best method is to pass the stones through diet and exercise. Below, I will recommend four types of medicated diets to help kidney stone patients pass the stones.

1. Poria Steamed Buns

Ingredients: 30g Poria, 1000g flour, 500g fresh pork, ginger, pepper, sesame oil, cooking wine, salt, soy sauce, scallion, bone broth.

Instructions: Place the Poria in a pot and boil it three times to extract the medicinal juice. Add about 250g of water each time and boil for 1 hour each time (boil for the duration of boiling). Combine the three batches of medicinal juice and filter it. Pour the flour onto the cutting board and add 300g of fermented dough. Knead it into a dough. Chop the pork into mince, put it in a bowl, mix with soy sauce, and then add seasonings. Stir to make the filling. Make the steamed buns according to the usual method. Steam them for about 25 minutes on high heat.

Benefits: Invigorates the spleen, improves appetite, nourishes the heart, calms the mind, removes dampness, and promotes water elimination.

2. Eight Treasures Cake
