The dried mature fruit of the plant Monocotyledonous Bramble or Bramble, which belongs to the family Lamiaceae, is called Manjingzi. Monocotyledonous Bramble is mainly produced in Shandong, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and other provinces; Bramble is mainly produced in Guangdong, Guangxi and other provinces and regions. The fruit is harvested in autumn when it is ripe, and after removing impurities, it is dried. It can be used raw or stir-fried. Now let's take a look at the classic legend of Manjingzi, a good medicine for clearing heat and detoxifying.
There was a heroic spirit in Liu Bang, who pointed out the direction of the country. Now the strong wind rises and the sand flies, which is a warning of the exhaustion of resources. All life on earth is tenacious, and everything has its reason for existence.
There is a weak plant in the lonely smoke of the desert, which is called "Desert Ivy" by the local people. In summer, it covers the sand dunes, and after autumn, it bears fruit. This fruit is a kind of Chinese medicinal material, and the local people can exchange it for money after collecting it.
In autumn and winter, it will naturally wither, and at the same time, the northwest wind is strong in the local area, and the sand dunes are flowing the fastest. At the critical moment, it loses the function of fixing sand. Therefore, it is not suitable for planting alone, but suitable for intercropping with wetland pine.
Desert Ivy, what is it? It's Manjingzi. The fruit it bears is called Manjingzi.
Manjingzi tastes pungent and bitter, slightly cold in nature, and belongs to the bladder, liver, and stomach meridians. It is good at dispersing wind and heat, clearing and benefiting the head and eyes. It is mainly used for wind-heat cold, headache, swollen and painful gums, red and watery eyes, dim and unclear vision, dizziness and vertigo. It is a precious medicinal material for dispelling wind, stopping headaches, and treating wind-dampness and pain.
Both Manjingzi and Bai Zhi Gao can be used to treat headaches. Bai Zhi is pungent, warm, fragrant and dry, with strong medicinal properties. It is especially good at reaching the top of the bladder meridian, so it is used to treat headaches at the top of the head. Bai Zhi has a warm and powerful energy, can circulate through the orifices and surface, and is the main medicine of the Foot Yangming meridian.
Therefore, it can treat pain in the eyebrow bones of the Yangming meridian. Manjingzi mainly treats headaches near the temples. It is most effective to use it in combination with tonifying herbs to treat headaches, because it is light and thin, and can easily rise. If you rely solely on one herb, it cannot achieve quick results.
When used for wind-heat headaches, it is often combined with Fang Feng, Ju Hua, and Shi Gao; for headache and wind, it is used with Gao Ben and Chuan Xiong; for red and swollen eyes, dim and dark vision, and dizziness, it is often used with Ju Hua, Chuan Xiong, and Jue Ming Zi.
According to "Zhenzhu Nang", Manjingzi "cools all meridians and blood, stops headaches, and is the main medicine for eye pain." Wang Haicang said, "It disperses liver wind." "Qian Jin Fang" records that soaking Manjingzi in wine and taking it can treat headache. Modern research shows that Manjingzi contains volatile oils, alkaloids, flavonoids, and vitamin A substances, which have sedative and analgesic effects and can be used to treat neuralgia and muscle nerve pain. Therefore, it is extremely effective in treating trigeminal neuralgia.
In clinical application, it can be slightly adjusted according to the condition. For those who are invaded by wind and cold, Xixin and Jing Jie can be added; for those with internal heat, Xia Ku Cao and Hang Ju Hua can be added; for those with blood stasis and obstruction of collaterals, Dang Gui and Chuan Xiong can be added.
In traditional Chinese medicine, it is analyzed that Manjingzi is not suitable for patients with blood deficiency and headache caused by fire. Take patients with stomach deficiency as an example. If they take Manjingzi, it will not have the desired effect and may instead cause more phlegm.
