The stem is covered with prickles and brown long hairs.

The leaves are alternate, slightly round in shape, measuring 8-13 centimeters long and 6.5-13 centimeters wide. They are deeply palmate with 5 lobes, with wide lanceolate lobes, sharp tips, heart-shaped bases, irregularly serrated edges, smooth and hairless on the upper surface, and densely hairy along the veins on the lower surface. The petiole is 6-10 centimeters long, covered in fine thorns and long hairs. The stipules are deeply lobed.

The flowers are clustered in the leaf axils, without stalks. The calyx is 5-lobed, with lanceolate lobes and hairs on the outside. The petals are 5 in number and pale yellow. There are numerous stamens and pistils.

The aggregate fruit is spherical and red. It blooms from May to June.
