Clinical Manifestations of Damp-Heat Stagnation Type Gout:
The pain in the toes or other joints is severe, often triggered by fatigue or after consuming alcohol or a heavy meal. The affected area is locally red and swollen, with a burning sensation. Other symptoms include discomfort, fever, dark yellow urine, dry or loose stools, red tongue, greasy yellow coating, and rapid slippery pulse.
Tu Fuling Bone Soup
Ingredients: 50g tu fuling (Poria cocos), 500g pork spine bones
Method: Boil the pork spine bones in water to make a soup, reducing it to approximately 1000ml. Remove the pork bones and skim off the oil on the surface. Slice the tu fuling and wrap it in cheesecloth, then add it to the pork bone soup and cook until the volume reduces to approximately 600ml.
Effect: Clears heat, detoxifies, nourishes the kidneys, and strengthens the bones.
Usage: Drink one dose daily, divided into 2-3 servings.
Steamed Eggplant
Ingredients: 250g eggplant, 5g salt, 5g sesame oil, 5g minced garlic, 15g soy sauce
Method: Peel the eggplant, cut it in half, and steam until soft. Let it cool slightly, then add soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and salt. Mix well.
Effect: Clears heat, detoxifies, and removes dampness.
Usage: Serve as a side dish.
Winter Melon and Red Bean Soup
Ingredients: 30g winter melon, 15g red adzuki beans
Method: Cook the winter melon and red adzuki beans in an appropriate amount of water until the beans are fully cooked. Season to taste.
Effect: Clears heat and promotes diuresis.
Usage: Eat as desired.
Red Bean and Coix Seed Porridge
Ingredients: 15g red adzuki beans, 30g coix seed, 30g glutinous rice
Method: Cook the above three ingredients as you would cook porridge.
Effect: Clears heat, promotes diuresis, and unblocks collaterals for dispelling rheumatism.
Usage: Eat in the morning and evening.
Dandelion Porridge
Ingredients: 30g fresh dandelion (preferably with roots), 50g polished rice
Method: Boil the dandelion in water to extract a concentrated juice. Remove the residue and retain 200ml of the juice. Add the polished rice and 400ml of water to the juice, and cook until it becomes a thick porridge. Season with rock sugar.
Effect: Clears heat and detoxifies.
Usage: Take twice daily, slightly warm, for 3-5 days as one course of treatment.
