Blood of deer antler is used in the preparation of "Beiji Qianjin Yao Fang". It is the blood from the unossified antler of deer species such as Cervus elaphus Linnaeus or Cervus nippon Temminck. The blood is collected during the sawing of the antler and then dried after coagulation.

[Preparation function] Clinically, blood of deer antler is used for conditions such as palpitations, insomnia, abdominal pain, and rheumatic pain. For example, when using blood of deer antler with yellow wine, it is used to treat palpitations, insomnia, and various types of abdominal pain (0.9g per dose, twice daily) (Inner Mongolia Medicinal Animals). It is also combined with Guizhi, Wujiapi, Zhichuanwu, and Songjie, soaked in alcohol for 7 days, and consumed as a drink (20ml per dose, twice daily) for the treatment of rheumatic pain (Inner Mongolia Medicinal Animals).
