Camphor, also known as chao brain or shao brain, is a granular substance obtained from the roots, stems, and leaves of the camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) through distillation and refinement. It is mentioned in the book "Ben Cao Pin Hui Jing Yao". The medicinal materials are harvested from September to December, and then distilled in a distillation apparatus. The crude camphor is obtained after the distillate cools down, and then it is further refined through sublimation to obtain refined camphor.
