Effective Acupuncture Methods for Weight Loss: A Traditional Chinese Medicine Approach

Although acupuncture for weight loss is not recorded in ancient medical texts, it has been proven in clinical practice that acupuncture can suppress appetite and achieve weight loss. It is particularly suitable for individuals who do not want to undergo surgery or take medication for rapid weight loss. Traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture for weight loss is actually a good method. The following are the five most commonly used methods:

1. Ear acupuncture: Acupoints include the mouth, esophagus, duodenum, hunger point, endocrine, brain, and stomach.

Procedure: Select 1-2 acupoints each time and alternate between both ears. Apply ear acupuncture patches 2-3 times per week. 10 sessions make up 2 treatment courses, with a 5-7 day interval between each course.

2. Body acupuncture (Part 1): Main acupoints are Guan Yuan and San Yin Jiao.

Additional acupoints are selected based on the differentiation of symptoms.

For spleen deficiency with dampness: Nei Guan, Shui Fen, Tian Shu, Feng Long, Lie Que, and Pi Yu.

For damp-heat internal excess: Qu Chi, Zhi Gou, Da Heng, Si Man, Nei Ting, and Fu Jie.

For imbalance of the Heng and Ren meridians: Zhi Gou, Zhong Zhu, Dai Mai, Xue Hai, Shen Yu, and Tai Xi.

Procedure: Main acupoints must be selected each time, followed by adding 3-4 additional acupoints based on the symptom differentiation. Leave the needles in for 30 minutes each time, with one treatment session every other day. 15 sessions make up one treatment course, with a 5-day interval between each course.

3. Body acupuncture (Part 2): Main acupoints are Tian Shu and Zhong
