The stomach meridian in children is located near the palm end of the first joint of the thumb. There are two methods of massaging the meridian: tonifying the stomach meridian and clearing the stomach meridian.

Massaging the Stomach Meridian by Tonifying

The massager holds the child's thumb with one hand to stabilize it, and uses the thumb pad of the other hand to rotate and massage the child's thumb near the palm end 100-500 times.

Massaging the Stomach Meridian by Clearing

The massager holds the child's thumb with one hand to stabilize it, and uses the other hand to push from the thumb tip towards the root of the finger, directly pushing 100-500 times. Clearing the stomach meridian and tonifying the stomach meridian both stimulate the stomach meridian.

Tonifying the stomach meridian can strengthen the spleen and stomach, promote digestion and absorption, and is often used for spleen and stomach weakness, indigestion, bloating, and other deficiencies.

Clearing the stomach meridian can eliminate damp heat in the middle burner, regulate stomach function, relieve gastric fire, relieve irritability and thirst, and is often used for upward rebellious vomiting, distension and fullness in the epigastrium, fever and thirst, constipation, and dyspepsia caused by blood loss and other excess conditions.
