Quze is the confluent point of the Hand Jueyin Pericardium Meridian. It is located in the transverse crease of the elbow, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle. It is primarily used to treat symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, vomiting, fever, and restlessness. Let's take a look at how to locate this acupoint together with the author!
Location of Quze Acupoint
The standard location: Quze is located in the transverse crease of the elbow, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle.
Quze is located in the transverse crease of the elbow, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle. Flex the elbow slightly to locate the acupoint.
Quze is located in the anterior elbow area, above the transverse crease of the elbow, in the depression on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle. Palms facing up, flex the elbow slightly to locate the acupoint.
Method of Locating Quze Acupoint
Palms facing up, flex the elbow slightly, and locate the acupoint above the transverse crease of the elbow, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle.
Quze is located in the anterior elbow area, above the transverse crease of the elbow, in the depression on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle. Palms facing up, flex the elbow slightly to locate the acupoint.
Palms facing up, flex the elbow at a 45° angle, locate the acupoint beside the ulnar side of the brachioradialis tendon, in the depression on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii muscle.
Quick locating method: With a slightly bent elbow, you can feel a large tendon on the inner side. The depression on the inner side of the transverse crease is the Quze acupoint.
Anatomy of Quze Acupoint
Below the Quze acupoint are the skin, subcutaneous tissue, median nerve, and brachialis muscle. It is located where the brachial artery and vein pass through.
The main trunk of the median nerve is distributed here. The skin is innervated by the medial cutaneous nerve of the arm, and the skin creases are deeper.
In addition to the above-mentioned cutaneous nerve, there is also an important vein called the cephalic vein. It originates from the ulnar side of the dorsal hand venous network, rises above the ulnar side of the forearm, turns to the front below the elbow pit, and receives the median cubital vein here. It then goes up along the inner edge of the biceps brachii muscle, and enters the brachial vein through the deep fascia at the midpoint of the arm.
When needling, the needle passes through the skin and subcutaneous fascia, pierces the anterior fascia between the cephalic vein and the median cubital vein, and directly stimulates the main trunk of the median nerve and the deep surface of the brachialis muscle. This muscle is innervated by the cutaneous nerve of the arm.
