The most common symptom of acute and chronic bronchitis is coughing. Traditional Chinese medicine often uses acupuncture on the Feishu acupoint combined with navel therapy to treat acute and chronic bronchitis. The method of using acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine has a long history, and it aims to promote blood circulation and prevent and treat diseases through the method of needle-sticking and moxibustion. So what is navel therapy?

【Acupuncture on Feishu Acupoint】
Feishu acupoint selection method:
Lie face down or sit with your head bent forward. Find the landmark on the upper back: the highest bony prominence of the seventh cervical vertebra when the neck is flexed forward. Then count down to the lower part of the third thoracic vertebra spinous process. According to the measurement of cun, 3 cun is the distance between the medial edge of the scapula and the spine. The midpoint of the two lines is the location of the Feishu acupoint, 1.5 cun lateral to the spine on both sides.
Inject 1-2 mL of an herbal solution (containing Xixinyao) into both Feishu acupoints once a day for 2-4 consecutive days, with half the dosage for children. Generally, 1-2 courses of treatment are effective.
Combining navel therapy with acupuncture produces excellent results.
【Precautions for Acupuncture】
1. Disinfection before moxibustion
In many acupuncture places, the acupuncturists rarely use alcohol for disinfection during the process, which is actually unhygienic. If we need acupuncture, we must insist on asking the other party to disinfect with alcohol flame first.
2. Avoid air conditioning
Although acupuncture can help dredge the meridians, promote blood circulation, and remove blood stasis, if we use air conditioning during acupuncture, it is easy to cause stroke-like symptoms. It is not worth it. During acupuncture, we should ensure that there is no wind around.
3. Avoid shaking
Acupuncture emphasizes speed, accuracy, and firmness. However, many people tend to twist and turn a little during acupuncture due to slight pain. In fact, this not only leads to incorrect needle insertion but may also cause minor bleeding due to improper needle insertion.
4. Maintain a relaxed state of mind
Do not wear makeup, scrape the tongue coating, or spray perfume during acupuncture. Ensure a pleasant and relaxed mood. In case of restlessness, sit quietly and calm down. Consider whether to undergo acupuncture on the same day or on another day after the mood has calmed down.
5. Maintain cleanliness
Do not take a bath or expose to cold air on the day of acupuncture. Ensure adequate rest and avoid contact between the acupuncture site and contaminants to prevent infection.
