Myocardial infarction refers to the severe and prolonged acute ischemia of the corresponding myocardium due to the interruption of blood supply in the coronary artery on the basis of coronary artery disease, ultimately leading to ischemic necrosis of the myocardium. Patients with acute myocardial infarction often have persistent severe pain behind the sternum, fever, increased white blood cell count, increased serum myocardial enzymes, and a series of characteristic changes in the electrocardiogram reflecting acute myocardial injury, ischemia, and necrosis. Arrhythmias, shock, and heart failure may also occur, which are severe types of coronary heart disease. Myocardial infarction is ischemic necrosis of the myocardium. It is caused by a sharp decrease or interruption of coronary artery blood supply on the basis of coronary artery disease, leading to severe and prolonged acute ischemia of the corresponding myocardium.

Neiguan Acupoint

According to "Ling Shu · Meridians," it is located on the palmar side of the forearm, on the line connecting Quze and Daling, 2 inches above the wrist transverse crease, between the tendons of the palmaris longus and the radial flexor carpi muscle. It is commonly used in the treatment of angina pectoris, myocarditis, arrhythmia, gastritis, hysteria, etc., and is usually needled at a depth of 0.5-1 inch.

Neiguan acupoint is the "collateral" point of the pericardium meridian. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine as a key acupoint for treating heart diseases. It can be used for almost all symptoms related to abnormal heart conditions.

Location: Neiguan acupoint is located in the lower part of the palmar surface of the forearm, on the line connecting Quze acupoint and Daling acupoint, 2 inches above Daling acupoint (wrist transverse crease), between the tendons of the palmaris longus and the radial flexor carpi muscle.

Indications: Most heart diseases, such as rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis, angina pectoris, arrhythmia, etc. It is particularly effective in preventing heart attacks.

Method:

Massage the Neiguan acupoint with the thumb of the other hand. It can be done at any time and place, and should be done until a sense of soreness and swelling is felt. Often, during the massage, there may be an inexplicable stimulation that spreads to the heart along the inside of the forearm. This is a better stimulating effect, but be careful not to exert excessive force. In addition, the pinch method with three fingers can also be used to pinch the skin at the Neiguan acupoint.

After persistently massaging for one month, patients can feel a significant reduction or disappearance of symptoms such as shortness of breath, restlessness, and palpitations.
