Traditional Chinese medicine has its unique methods for treating diseases, just like acupuncture points. Although they seem unrelated, the stimulation of acupuncture points can have therapeutic effects on diseases, which is completely different from Western medicine. For example, massaging the Quze point in combination with the Weizhong point can treat acute gastroenteritis. So what are the other applications of the Quze point?
Quze Point
Quze Point
The name "Quze Point" consists of the characters "qu" and "ze". "Qu" means hidden, and "ze" means swamp. Quze means the convergence of Qi and blood of the pericardium meridian. This point is located on the pericardium meridian and is in the southern part of the body. Although the Qi of the upper and lower parts of the pericardium meridian converges and dissipates heat and cold at this point, showing the characteristics of water moistening and descending, the water and dampness of the meridian still undergoes a large amount of gasification at this point due to the transmission of the Heavenly Spring point. This point generates Qi and blood like a tropical swamp, hence the name Quze.
Location of the Quze Point
The Quze point is located on the transverse crease of the elbow, on the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii.
Method of locating the point : With the elbow extended and the palm facing up, slightly bend the elbow. In the bend of the elbow, you can feel a large tendon, which is the tendon of the biceps brachii. On the inner side (ulnar side) of the tendon, you can feel a depression on the transverse crease of the elbow. Pressing on it will produce a sore and swollen feeling.
Anatomy of the point : On the ulnar side of the tendon of the biceps brachii, there are deep muscles such as the pronator teres muscle and the brachialis muscle; there is a venous network composed of the median vein, the basilic vein, the brachial artery and vein, the palmar branch of the ulnar recurrent vein, and the anterior branch of the ulnar collateral vein; there is the main trunk of the median nerve, the ulnar nerve, the radial nerve, and the anterior branch of the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm on the ulnar side.

Massage therapy: Use the thumb to flick the Quze point 100-200 times to improve palpitations, chest pain, and hemoptysis.
Moxibustion therapy: Use moxa sticks to gently warm the Quze point for 5-20 minutes, once a day, to relieve shock and chest pain.
Guasha therapy: Use scraping therapy for 3-5 minutes on the Quze point using a scraping tool, once every other day, to treat fever, palpitations, chest pain, restlessness, etc.
Acupuncture therapy: Directly needle the Quze point 0.3-0.5 cun, causing local soreness and swelling. The needle can be dispersed towards the upper arm or elbow (or use a tri-edge needle for acupuncture and bloodletting).
