Meridian Massage: Unlocking the Secrets to Beautiful Skin

February 17, 2024

For a woman who loves beauty, the most important thing is her skin. It is necessary to pay attention to skin care and maintenance.

What is the best method for beauty and skin care? Generally speaking, meridian massage is a good method. By stimulating the meridians, the meridians can reach a perfect balance. This promotes the circulation of qi and blood, resulting in overall health and beauty from the inside out. The following set of massage techniques can promote facial blood circulation, slow down skin aging, and reduce wrinkles, maintaining skin elasticity.

  I. Facial Massage Method

  1. Massage the cheeks. From the lower neck to the ears, rotate in a circular motion. Massage 2-3 times from bottom to top.

  2. Massage the mouth, nose, and face. Starting from the outer corner of the eye, along the cheek to the Stomach 6 acupoint, then move to the mouth corners, and do pushing and holding movements around the mouth, moving upwards along the sides of the nose to the brow center. Use kneading movements 2-3 times.

  3. Massage the eyebrows and eyes. Place the middle finger on the inner corner of the eye and the index finger above the eyebrow, and massage in a circular motion around the eye socket 3-5 times.

  4. Press the facial acupoints. Use your fingers to press the Stomach 9 (thumb), Large Intestine 4 (index finger), and LI 20 (middle finger).

  II. Cheek Wrinkle Massage Method

Although wrinkles are a natural result of skin aging, we can delay their occurrence and development through massage. Massage can increase skin temperature, promote blood circulation, enhance metabolism, and enable skin appendages (sebaceous glands, sweat glands, hair follicles, etc.) to function normally. When cheek wrinkles first appear, we can eliminate them through massage.

  1. Forehead. To prevent and eliminate forehead wrinkles, we can use the ridged surface of the thumbs or the fingertips of three or four fingers, and use pushing movements or one-directional stroking movements from the midline of the forehead to the temples. If wrinkles appear, use one-directional stroking movements from the root of the nose and brow arch towards the hairline, starting from the midline and gradually stroking to the temples. Do it twice a day, 15 minutes each time.

  2. Cheekbones. To remove cheek wrinkles, start from the sides of the nose and use the ridged surface of the thumbs to push or gently stroke towards the front of the ears; for cheek massage, start from the sides of the nose and use the same technique to gently stroke or push towards the temples. Do it twice a day, 15 minutes each time.

  3. Lower jaw. To remove wrinkles on the lower jaw, use kneading or tapping with fingertips to gently knead or tap from the midline of the lower jaw to the temples; the skin below the zygomatic bone can also be treated with the same technique, gently kneading or tapping from the midline of the lower jaw along the jawbone to the back of the ears. Do it once a day, 15 minutes each time.

  III. Eye Wrinkle Removal Method

The skin around the eyes is very delicate and prone to develop crow's feet, laugh lines, etc., which deepen with age. What should we do? As long as we persist in using the correct massage techniques and strengthen self-care, we can make ourselves look as radiant as before.

  1. Massage the outer corner of the eye. Place the ridged surface of the thumbs at the center of the iris, inhale while pressing, and exhale while releasing. Repeat 5 times.

  2. Massage the inner corner of the eye. Place the thumb and index finger of one hand at the inner corners of the eyes, inhale while pressing downwards, and exhale while releasing; inhale while squeezing upwards, and exhale while releasing. Repeat 5 times. This method has the effects of expelling wind, clearing heat, promoting meridian circulation, and improving eyesight.

  3. Massage the eyelids. Place the ridged surface of the middle fingers of both hands at the acupoints beside the inner corners of the eyes, inhale while pressing, and exhale while releasing. Repeat 5 times.

  4. Massage around the eyes. Place the ridged surface of the middle fingers of both hands at the sides of the eye sockets. Inhale while pressing, and exhale while releasing; move the fingers in a circular motion around the eye sockets and return to the starting position. Repeat 3 times.

Of course, to achieve the desired results, it is necessary to persist in the long term.
