The Benefits of Massaging the Lígōu Acupuncture Point

Whether it is itching, odor, abnormal vaginal discharge, burning sensation, or frequent urination, these uncomfortable conditions can make people feel restless and embarrassed in daily life and work. By knowing just one acupuncture point, the Lígōu point, we can bid farewell to these discomforts and eliminate the embarrassment.

The Location of the Lígōu Acupuncture Point

The Lígōu acupuncture point is located on the inside of the lower leg, five inches above the inner ankle and in the center of the medial side of the shinbone. According to traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating this point can promote the flow of liver qi and regulate menstruation. It is used to treat conditions such as irregular menstruation, abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, vaginal prolapse, vaginal itching, difficulty urinating, acute injuries of the lower back and knee joints, and lower limb paralysis.

Massaging the Lígōu Acupuncture Point

(1) Massaging the Lígōu acupuncture point can be done by applying pressure with the fingertips of the thumb. Massage the point for 3-5 minutes every day to treat conditions such as irregular menstruation.

Another method is moxibustion, where a moxa stick is gently burned near the Lígōu acupuncture point for 5-20 minutes once a day. This can effectively treat and improve symptoms of irregular menstruation and abdominal pain.

(2) Cupping therapy is also suitable for the Lígōu acupuncture point. Attach a suction cup to the point and leave it for 5-10 minutes, once every other day. This can improve symptoms such as lower limb pain.

Scraping therapy can also be used to stimulate the Lígōu acupuncture point. Use a scraping tool to scrape the point for three minutes once every other day. The skin around the point should turn red or develop sha marks, indicating the appropriate level of stimulation. This can relieve symptoms such as difficulty urinating and abdominal pain.
