Dysmenorrhea caused by cold uterus can lead to delayed menstruation and painful menstruation in many women. More seriously, it may cause infertility. If the uterus temperature is not enough, it is difficult for the fertilized egg to successfully implant and survive. Can moxibustion be used to treat cold uterus?
Can moxibustion be used for cold uterus?
Moxibustion for cold uterus should not be excessive. 4-5 times a week is sufficient, with each session not exceeding 1 hour. Excessive moxibustion can cause dryness and heat, leading to constipation. Moxibustion should be performed once a day for the first three to four days, and then once every one to two days. It can be continued for several months or even half a year or more, until the symptoms of cold uterus improve. The duration of moxibustion varies for each individual depending on their constitution and severity of the condition. Generally, the duration is around 30 to 40 minutes, adjusted according to comfort.
Methods of moxibustion for cold uterus
Take a moxa stick or moxa wool, and a moxibustion box. Light the moxa stick and move it up and down, left and right, near the acupuncture points to be treated. The moxibustion should be warm and comfortable for the skin. During moxibustion, concentrate your thoughts to avoid deviating from the position or burning the skin.
The best method is to light the moxa stick and place it in the moxibustion box, then place it over the entire abdomen without contact, so that the moxibustion effect is comprehensive and safe. The Sanyinjiao acupuncture point can be treated with a portable moxibustion box.
