The standard location: The Tian Chong acupoint is located on the head, 2 inches above the posterior edge of the ear root and 0.5 inches behind the Shuai Gu acupoint.

The Tian Chong acupoint is located above the posterior and upper part of the ear lobe, directly above the posterior edge of the ear root, 2 inches into the hairline, or approximately 0.5 inches behind the Shuai Gu acupoint (as described in "Fourteen Meridians Unveiled," "Acupoint Locations along the Meridians," and "Complete Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion").

According to some sources, it is located "3 finger-widths above the ear" (as described in "Jia Yi Jing Acupuncture and Moxibustion") or "3 inches above the ear" (as described in "Essential Emergency Prescriptions").

Sit upright or lie on the side, and locate the acupoint above the root of the ear lobe, 2 inches into the hairline, approximately 0.5 inches behind the Shuai Gu acupoint.
