Winter is a peak period for cardiovascular diseases, and many middle-aged and elderly people often experience symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, insomnia and dreaminess, memory decline, and tinnitus. In fact, these are all manifestations of chronic cerebral ischemia. So, how can we alleviate these symptoms?
The human body's blood and qi flow from the feet to the brain. If the blood and qi in the feet are not smooth, it can lead to insufficient blood supply to the brain. Therefore, to improve cerebral blood supply, we must first improve blood supply to the feet. Today, I want to recommend a method to relieve cerebral ischemia - stimulating the acupoint called "Jiexi".
Jiexi acupoint is located on the foot, at the center of the horizontal crease where the foot meets the lower leg. When locating the acupoint, you can sit with your foot flat on the ground or lie down with your leg straight. The acupoint is located between the two large tendons, the extensor hallucis longus tendon and the extensor digitorum longus tendon.
To stimulate the acupoint, use your thumb to press on the Jiexi acupoint. You will feel soreness and pain at the acupoint. Press the acupoint with your finger, gradually increasing the pressure, and hold for 10 seconds before releasing. Pressing and releasing once is one cycle, repeat this cycle 30 times.
Another method is to rotate the ankles. Sit cross-legged on the bed or sofa, hold the ankle and the sole of the foot with both hands, and slowly rotate. Alternatively, when sitting, place the toes on the ground and rotate the ankle, keeping the body relaxed. It is recommended to rotate 100 times in each direction, once in the morning and once in the evening.
You can also raise your heels. This can be done in a sitting or lying down position. Simply raise your heels as high as possible. This can also stimulate the Jiexi acupoint.
The above methods for massaging the acupoint are simple, right? Hurry up and save them for your parents!
