According to traditional Chinese medicine, the Ligou acupoint can regulate liver function, promote Qi circulation, and regulate menstruation.

It is mainly used to treat irregular menstruation, abdominal pain, abnormal discharge, vaginal prolapse, vaginal itching, urinary obstruction, acute injuries to the waist, back, and knee joints, and lower limb paralysis.

Massage Techniques for the Ligou Acupoint

(1) Stimulating the Ligou acupoint can be done by massaging it. Use the fingertip of your thumb to apply pressure and knead the Ligou acupoint for 3-5 minutes. Massage it every day to treat gynecological problems such as irregular menstruation.

You can also use moxibustion to stimulate the Ligou acupoint. Use a moxa stick to gently warm the acupoint for 5-20 minutes, once a day. This can effectively treat and improve symptoms such as irregular menstruation and abdominal pain.

(2) In addition, cupping is also suitable for the Ligou acupoint. Use a cupping jar to suction the acupoint and leave it for 5-10 minutes before removing. Do this every other day to improve symptoms such as lower limb pain.

You can also use gua sha to stimulate the Ligou acupoint. Use a scraping tool to scrape the acupoint for three minutes, every other day. The skin around the acupoint should become slightly red or have sha marks. This can relieve symptoms such as urinary obstruction and abdominal pain.
