January 19, 2024

Although we all know that staying up late is harmful to our bodies, many people still can't control it and stay up late frequently. People who stay up late often have worse skin, heavier dark circles, and symptoms such as back pain, fatigue, forgetfulness, and irritability the next day. This can lead to the accumulation of toxins in the body, which seriously affects our health. Below, traditional Chinese medicine teaches you to massage 4 acupoints to remedy the effects of staying up late.

1. Baihui Acupoint

Location: The Baihui acupoint is located at the central depression where the line connecting the top of the head and the back of the ears intersects.

Massage: Use the middle finger to press and exhale slowly while pressing the acupoint. Inhale when relaxing. Repeat the pressing for 5 minutes.

Effect: If you feel soreness the day after staying up late, you can massage the Baihui acupoint on the top of your head to help alleviate fatigue and soreness caused by lack of sleep.

2. Tianzhu Acupoint

Location: The Tianzhu acupoint is located on the outer side of the muscles protruding at the neck.

Massage: Place the pads of the four fingers of both hands, except for the thumbs, on the hairline and press firmly for 5 minutes.

Effect: If you feel very tired on the day after staying up late, massaging the Tianzhu acupoint at the back of your head can also help relieve fatigue caused by lack of sleep.

3. Hegu Acupoint

Location: The Hegu acupoint is located between the first and second metacarpal bones on the back of the hand, near the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone.

Massage: Place the palm of the right hand on the back of the left hand, and use the thumb to rub the Hegu acupoint on the Yangming Large Intestine Meridian back and forth for 50 times each.

Effect: Hegu acupoint is an important point where the original qi of the Yangming Large Intestine Meridian converges. According to the "Four General Acupoints Song", it has the effect of treating facial diseases because it can dredge the local meridians and qi and blood.

4. Quchi Acupoint

Location: The Quchi acupoint is located at the inner bend of the elbow. When you bend your elbow, you can feel a slight pain when pressing this depression with your thumb.

Massage: Use the thumb to press slightly with a little pain as the standard, hold for 5 seconds, and then release. Alternate pressing with both hands for 3-5 minutes.

Effect: The Quchi acupoint is closely related to the body's metabolism. Since the body excretes waste through the intestinal organs, frequently pressing the Quchi acupoint can help detoxify and relieve stress in your daily busy work.
