Relieve Stomach Pain Naturally: Massage for Effective Relief

Nowadays, there are many people suffering from stomach problems. When experiencing stomach pain, many people either endure it or simply take a few pills to solve the problem. However, these methods are not advisable. I suggest using massage on several pain relief points to alleviate stomach pain. This method is not harmful to the body and can effectively relieve symptoms of stomach pain.


Pressure Point One: Zusanli

Location: 3 inches below the kneecap, on the outer side of the lower leg, along the line connecting the calf nose and the Jiexi point.

Method: Use the thumbs of both hands to press and rotate the Zusanli points on both legs in a clockwise direction for 60 times, and then in an anticlockwise direction for 60 times. Then, use the thumbs of both hands to rub the Zusanli points from top to bottom until there is a warm sensation on the skin. Repeat this method 2-3 times a day for 2-3 consecutive days to alleviate or eliminate stomach pain.

Effect: Zusanli is an important acupoint on the stomach meridian, and the stomach is the foundation of the body. Pressure Point Two: Neiguan

Location: On the palm side of the forearm, between the tendons of the flexor carpi radialis and the palmaris longus, 2 inches above the transverse wrist crease.

Method: Use the right thumb to press Neiguan on the left hand, while the index finger supports the Waiguan point (located on the back side of the wrist, opposite to Neiguan). Press and release both points together, with one pinch and one release, for 50 times. Then, switch to the left hand and repeat the process on the right hand.

Effect: Neiguan can treat various conditions such as stomach pain, vomiting, chest pain, restlessness, palpitations, arrhythmia, and various heart and chest diseases, insomnia, epilepsy, and hysteria. It can also directly affect the blood supply to the heart.


Pressure Point Three: Zhongwan

Location: 4 inches above the navel, along the line connecting the lower end of the sternum and the navel.

Method: Lie on your back, relax your muscles, exhale slowly, and press the acupoint with your thumb. Release the pressure every six seconds and repeat this process 10 times.

Effect: Pressing Zhongwan in this way can immediately bring comfort to the stomach for patients with chronic gastritis, especially when experiencing unbearable stomach pain.

Pressure Point Four: Hegu

Location: Between the first and second metacarpal bones, in the muscle near the midpoint between the thumb and index finger.

Method: Use the thumb to massage Hegu on both hands for 5-10 minutes.

Effect: Pressing Hegu can help relax the stomach and relieve stomach spasms.


Pressure Point Five: Yanglingquan

Location: Below the head of the fibula on the outer side of the knee joint when the knee is at a right angle.

Method: Use finger pressure to massage and stimulate the acupoint. Exhale while applying pressure for six seconds, and then release the pressure. Repeat this process 10 times.

Effect: This method can be used for patients with hyperacidic chronic gastritis. It can make the acid secretion more active and prevent acid reflux.

Relieve indigestion and constipation: Stand with your knees bent and your feet shoulder-width apart. Place your hands lightly on your knees and lean forward slightly. Take a deep breath and slowly exhale while contracting the abdominal muscles, causing them to sink inwards. However, do not exert too much force, as it may cause discomfort. Maintain this posture for 5-20 seconds, without holding your breath. Then, exhale and relax the muscles. Repeat this process 4-7 times.
