Tian Chong Point is an acupuncture point located on the head of the human body, directly above the posterior edge of the ear, 2 inches into the hairline. Stimulating Tian Chong Point through acupuncture or massage can have great effects. Let's take a closer look at Tian Chong Point.
[Origin of the Name Tian Chong Point]
(1) "Tian Chong Point"
"Tian" refers to the qi and blood of the upper body. "Chong" refers to the state of qi and blood circulation resembling a shooting motion. The name of this point implies that after the qi of the Gallbladder meridian absorbs heat and expands, it shoots out from this point to various parts of the upper body.
The substance of this point is the dampness qi transmitted from Shuai Gu Point. After reaching this point, due to the external heat that enters the point, the dampness qi expands and shoots out to the upper body outside the Gallbladder meridian, hence the name "Tian Chong Point".
(2) "Tian Qu Point"
"Tian" refers to the qi and blood of the upper body. "Qu" refers to the state of the output of qi and blood from the point, resembling the appearance of roads intersecting or tree branches protruding. The name "Tian Qu Point" implies that the qi and blood of the Gallbladder meridian are transmitted to various parts of the upper body from this point. The explanation is the same as Tian Chong Point.
