They may experience excessive sweating, night crying, loss of appetite, bad breath, sparse and dull hair, pale or sallow complexion, dry or loose stools, fatigue, cold hands and feet, or hot palms, frequent colds, coughing, and other symptoms. The tongue may appear pale with a thin or peeled coating, and the pulse may be weak.

Symptoms

Children with weak spleen function often have poor growth and development.

They may experience excessive sweating, night crying, loss of appetite, sparse and dull hair, pale complexion, or sallow complexion, dry or loose stools, fatigue, cold hands and feet, or hot palms, frequent colds, coughing, and other symptoms. The tongue may appear pale with a thin or peeled coating, and the pulse may be weak. Laboratory tests may reveal anemia, low levels of immunoglobulins, and micronutrient deficiencies. Traditional Chinese medicine suggests actively treating the root cause of weak spleen function in order to reduce or prevent respiratory tract infections. Common methods include tonifying spleen and qi, strengthening the body's defenses, and nourishing qi and yin.

Modern medicine believes that excessive sweating in children is often a physiological phenomenon due to their active metabolism and high levels of physical activity. Children with rickets may sweat excessively after excessive daytime activities and during sleep. In addition, excessive sweating can also occur in conditions such as active pulmonary tuberculosis, autonomic nervous dysfunction, and rheumatic fever. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this condition is caused by imbalances in yin and yang and weakened skin pores. It is often related to yin deficiency in the heart, lungs, and kidneys. Common symptoms include sweating all over the body during sleep, with sweating stopping upon waking, accompanied by restlessness, heat in the chest, dry mouth, and thirst.
