Unlocking the Healing Power of Hand Massage: Acupoints for Health and Beauty

January 20, 2024

There are many important acupoints on the hands, such as Laogong acupoint, Yujie acupoint, Shaofu acupoint, Hegu acupoint, and Shenmen acupoint. Different acupoints correspond to different organs in the body. Regularly massaging the fingers, palms, and backs of the hands can regulate organ functions and also have a beautifying effect.

The Laogong acupoint is located in the center of the palm lines, where the tip of the middle finger touches when making a fist. Massaging it can help clear the heart and stomach, and eliminate facial acne. The Yujie acupoint is located at the midpoint of the first metacarpal bone on the palm, under the prominence of the thumb. It has the function of clearing heat, promoting lung function, and dispersing stagnation to nourish the skin. The Shaofu acupoint is located where the tip of the little finger touches when making a fist. It can clear heat, activate blood circulation, and nourish the skin. The Shenmen acupoint is located on the wrist and palm joint on the side of the little finger, while the Hegu acupoint is located between the first and second metacarpal bones on the back of the hand. Massaging these acupoints can promote facial blood circulation, relieve fatigue, invigorate the spirit, and refresh the mind.

Palm massage is very convenient and can be done frequently. During the massage, you can use your thumb to locate the acupoints and tender spots, rub clockwise for about fifteen minutes until it feels warm; you can also rub your palms together to generate heat and then massage specific acupoints on the hands; you can also use a wooden roller or health ball to stimulate the acupoints on the palm. It is recommended to wash your hands before the massage, apply some skincare products to lubricate the skin, massage with gentle force and slow movements, and drink one or two glasses of water after the massage to promote metabolism.
