Effective Techniques for Safe At-Home Dead Skin Removal

November 28, 2023

To remove dead skin at home, you can use a scrub or a specialized exfoliating cream. The technique and direction must be correct, otherwise it can cause more damage to the skin.

The specific method is as follows:

1. When rubbing off dead skin on the forehead, gently hold the skin with your fingers, and use the middle or ring finger of the other hand to gently rub from the center to the sides.

2. Rub the left cheek from bottom to top.

3. Similarly, rub the right cheek from bottom to top. The technique must be gentle, without excessive pulling or stretching of the skin.

4. Rub the sides of the nose from top to bottom.

5. Around the lips and chin, gently rub in an arc shape from inside to outside along the muscles around the lips.

Different people have different cycles for exfoliating. Generally, people with normal skin exfoliate once a week; people with oily skin exfoliate every 3-4 days; people with dry skin exfoliate every 2-3 weeks; people with sensitive skin exfoliate every 1-2 months. If you regularly use a facial sponge, the exfoliation cycle can be extended because the sponge already removes some of the dead skin cells when washing the face.
