In winter, the air is dry and the skin is prone to dehydration. The metabolism is slower and the secretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands is reduced. The skin becomes dry and cracked, and even small wrinkles appear around the eyes. When wrinkles appear on the face, special attention must be paid to skincare and diet. It is important to consume more vegetables and fruits and to moisturize dry skin with high water-based anti-wrinkle moisturizers in the morning and evening. In addition, it is necessary to drink enough water to keep the body hydrated. If less than 1 to 2 liters of water is consumed in a day, the face will appear wrinkled due to dehydration.
1. Reduce the number of times you wash your face with hot water, 1-2 times a day is sufficient, and avoid using alkaline soaps.
2. Massage the facial skin regularly to promote blood circulation. Use a face mask 1-2 times a week.
3. After washing the face, apply oil-based skincare products. If there are cracks in the hands and feet, apply some crack prevention ointment.
4. Drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and moderate amounts of chicken, fish, and meat to replenish moisture and nutrients in the body.
5. Protect the skin from the stimulation of cold air and cold wind when going out by wearing appropriate cold protection accessories.
6. Adjust the room temperature. The heat emitted by indoor heating and water heaters in winter causes the working environment and living space to become dry. In addition, the reduced sweat and sebum secretion leads to dry and tight skin, which is prone to wrinkles. In this case, it is necessary to increase the humidity artificially. Placing a basin of water on the heater or next to the fireplace, drying wet clothes, boiling water on the stove, keeping plants or an aquarium, not only beautifies the living space but also helps to moisturize the air. If the hands are dry and cracked, they can be washed with warm water at night and then massaged with a cream containing vitamin A and D.
7. Do regular face masks. Like a machine, the skin needs regular maintenance to replenish moisture and nutrients and keep it smooth, moist, and elastic. Applying a face mask is a good way to take care of the skin. Face masks can be made at home by mixing 2 tablespoons of starch, an appropriate amount of honey and milk, and a few capsules of vitamin A and E. Apply the mixture to the face after washing, and rinse after 20 minutes.
8. Change skincare products. Due to the low humidity and temperature in winter, the skincare products used in summer and autumn are not sufficient to keep the skin warm, protected, and moisturized. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the amount of water, nutrients, and oil. For dry and neutral skin, after washing the face in the morning, quickly apply a nourishing lotion or emulsion, and then apply oil-based skincare products such as mink oil and nutrient cream. At night, after washing the face, slightly heat animal oil such as butter, gently apply it on the face, massage for a few minutes, and then press with a tissue to avoid soiling clothes.
