The combination of pangolin and Wang Buliu Xing in traditional Chinese medicine has a good effect on promoting blood circulation and lactation. There is a folk saying: "Pangolin and Wang Buliu Xing, when women take them, their milk will flow abundantly." The poet Zuo Si from the Western Jin Dynasty also wrote in his poem: "After giving birth, if your milk is insufficient, listen to my words. Use pangolin scales without boiling. Grind them into fine powder and mix with sweet wine. This will help to clear the milk ducts like a flowing spring."
Pangolin scales are derived from the scales of vertebrate fish in the Lepisosteidae family. They have the effects of promoting blood circulation, lactation, and reducing swelling and draining pus. They are used for blood stasis and menstrual blockage.
