How to prevent moisture during the rainy season

April 17, 2023
The rainy season is a unique climate for a small town in the south of the Yangtze River, where it can be rainy for many days without seeing the sun. The literati may feel that the rain is a romantic weather, but for ordinary people, the rain is "moldy rain", a rainy season to find ways to prevent moisture, otherwise the home appliances, wooden furniture have to suffer. Here I have also collected a few moisture prevention tips, I hope to avoid the "plum rain" into "moldy rain"!

Furniture moisture

Wooden furniture is damp after the light arch, anti-cock, the heavy mold corrosion, not only damage to the aesthetic, but also may make the furniture scrap. In order to avoid this situation, when laying the floor should be done in advance to prevent moisture treatment, first sprinkled with anti-insect powder, and then laid on the moisture-proof film, try to choose a thick moisture-proof film, lay more than a few, and to ensure that the corners do not appear to cover the "leak". The floor has been paved, when the rainy weather comes, you can use a small board of about 1 cm thickness to pad up the furniture, and then cover a layer of moisture-proof film on top of the board to avoid direct contact with the furniture wet ground. Not good to move the furniture padded board, you can put some desiccant to keep dry. Home blankets, sofas, quilts, pillows encountered when the sky is sunny, and more ventilation, if it is a continuous rainy weather, you can use a hair dryer against the carpet, fabric sofa blowing, disperse moisture.

Home appliances moisture

Humid weather in the rainy season will lead to mold breeding, the wire moisture is very easy to occur after the leakage phenomenon. So in order to prevent appliances from moisture, in the choice of appliance placement to pay special attention to two points. Placed in a ventilated position, the bathroom washing machine in rainy weather to pad high, it is best to move out often ventilation. Not good to move out, before using again with a dry rag to wipe off the surface of the washing machine moisture, and then blow dry moisture with a hair dryer to the energized parts and small holes in the appliance shell to prevent the risk of electric shock.

Food moisture

The air is more humid and the temperature is warmer during the rainy season, which is the best environment for bacteria to grow, so food is also most likely to mold. In order to prevent food mold, it is best to use plastic wrap to wrap the food in the refrigerator. If you don't have a refrigerator, you can buy some desiccant, fill the container with food first, then put the container into a plastic bag with desiccant, seal the bag and put it in the vent. Note that the desiccant should not touch the food directly to avoid contaminating the food.

Clothes moisture-proof

During the rainy season, not only furniture and appliances should be protected from moisture, but also the clothes in the closet, although there are cabinets installed, also need to be protected from moisture. It is best to take out again to clean, sunshine when the sky is clear. Otherwise, it is easy to produce unpleasant odors, and even mold and mildew spots. Washed clothing, if not worn for a long time, after drying thoroughly in the sun, you can use moisture bags, and put on the desiccant moisture.

Shoes moisture

Shoes are the easiest place to breed bacteria, rainy season shoes if you do not pay attention to moisture, it is easy to catch bacteria, infected with athlete's foot. The best way is not to wear shoes, wash them, place bamboo charcoal desiccant inside the shoes, and pack them in a box and cover them with a plastic bag. Shoes that are being worn, before wearing can be blown with a hair dryer for 3-5 minutes to keep the inside of the shoes dry.

How to do if the clothes do not dry in the rainy season

If the clothes in the rainy season do not come out of the sun, it is not dry, hanging out for a long time, there will be an unpleasant smell. In general, the rainy season is best to first shake or wring out clothes, and then unfold the clothes and hang them outside for 7-8 hours. Take in and dry the clothes with a hair dryer, or a clothes dryer. In the case of no hair dryer or dryer, first wring out the clothes as much as possible, and then shake a few more times by hand to shake out the moisture, and finally propping up the clothes that you are in a hurry to wear as much as possible, do not let the clothes stick, and place them in the best location for ventilation.

Other moisture control tips

Suggestion one: close the windows in the morning and evening, daytime ventilation. Open the windows after 10:00 a.m. every day, and close the windows before 6:00 p.m., especially the southeast windows. Suggestion two: place desiccant in the corners, shoe cabinets, closets and other closed spaces, the corners can be placed lime, shoes or closed closets put bamboo charcoal desiccant. Suggestion three: after dragging the floor or feel the floor is more humid, turn on the fan, open the doors and windows to blow away the moisture on the surface of the floor.
