How to get a foreign body in the eye

If a foreign body accidentally enters the eye, it can lead to eye discomfort, pain and tears and other symptoms. When encountering this situation should be handled calmly, for different foreign body characteristics in a timely manner to make the correct treatment measures.

Close your eyes

If it is a slight dust into the eyes, temporarily close the eyes, foreign body stimulation produced by the tears will wash out the foreign body.

Rinse the eyes

If it is difficult to flush out the foreign substance with tears for a while, sink your face into clean water and keep miscellaneous eyes, or lie on your side and let the person next to you flush your eyes with warm water. Especially if you accidentally put detergent and other eating liquids into your eyes, rinsing them with water in a timely manner is the most effective way to relieve them.

Swabbing to remove the foreign body

If the above method does not relieve the discomfort caused by a foreign body entering the eye, use a clean thumb to hold the lower eyelid and gently pull it apart to check the inside of the lower eyelid. If dust is present, use a cotton swab or a clean handkerchief with water to gently wipe away the foreign body. Do not rub with your hands to avoid causing eye infections from the bacteria on your hands.
