Purple oil wood leaves are also known as false chrysanthemum or purple leaves. It is a traditional Chinese medicine that mainly grows in limestone forests or shrubs at an altitude of 580-2700m. The resources are distributed in southwest China, Guangxi, Tibet, and other regions.


I. Efficacy and Functions of Purple Oil Wood Leaves

It has the effects of clearing heat, detoxification, and dispelling dampness. It is mainly used to treat dysentery, diarrhea, food stagnation, eczema, and measles.

1. "Commonly Used Medicinal Herbs in Sichuan": "Promotes qi circulation and relieves pain. It is used to treat abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody dysentery, cracked feet, and other conditions."

2. "Yunnan Medicinal Herbs": "Clears heat and detoxifies. It is used to treat dysentery, enteritis, diarrhea, sores, eczema, measles, and food stagnation."

II. Usage and Dosage of Purple Oil Wood Leaves

Oral administration: Decoction, 9-15g; External use: as needed. Decoction for washing or pulverization for application.

When consuming, avoid eating raw, cold, and greasy foods.

III. Cultivation of Purple Oil Wood Leaves

Harvesting and storage: Harvest tender leaf tips in spring and use them fresh or sun-dry them.

Biological characteristics: It prefers a warm and humid climate with abundant sunlight and well-drained soil. It is suitable for cultivation in sandy soil with deep soil layers and rich humus content.

Cultivation techniques: Propagate using seeds. Harvest mature and plump fruits, dry them, and store in sand. Sow in March the following year, sow in rows with a spacing of 30cm, and a seed distance of 5cm. After covering with soil, water it and keep the soil moist. Transplant when the seedlings reach a height of 35-40cm. Plant with a spacing of 300cm x 300cm.
