"(1) Fire throwing method: Roll thin paper into a paper roll or cut it into thin paper strips. When it is burning to about 1/3, throw it into the jar and quickly tap the jar on the selected area. When throwing fire, whether using paper rolls or paper strips, they must be more than an inch above the jar opening. After burning about an inch, both the paper roll and paper strips can stand diagonally in the jar, and the flames will not burn the skin. For beginners, you can also put a layer of wet paper or apply some water on the area to be cupped to absorb the heat and protect the skin.
(2) Flashing fire method: Use a No. 7-8 thick iron wire and wrap one end with asbestos rope or thread to make an alcohol holder.
Before use, slightly dip the alcohol stick into 95% alcohol, ignite it with an alcohol lamp or candle, flash the end of the alcohol stick with a flame into the bottom of the jar, quickly withdraw it, and immediately put the jar on the selected area. At this time, the jar has created negative pressure and can be sucked.
The advantage of the flashing fire method is that when the alcohol stick flashes, the flame has left the jar, and there is no fire inside the jar, which can avoid burns. It is better than the fire throwing method.
(3) Dripping alcohol method: Drip a few drops of alcohol onto the middle part of the inner wall of the jar (do not touch the jar opening), rotate the jar for one round to evenly distribute the alcohol on the inner wall, then ignite the alcohol with a matchstick, turn the jar upside down, and quickly tap the jar on the selected area.
(4) Cotton attachment method: Take a small piece of degreased cotton about 0.5 square centimeters, lightly dip it in alcohol, and attach it tightly to the middle part of the jar wall. Ignite it with a matchstick, and immediately put the jar on the selected area.
(5) Bottle cap method: Prepare a beer bottle cap, place an alcohol cotton ball in the middle, ignite the cotton ball, and immediately put the jar on top and suck it. This method is suitable for large areas of the prone or supine position. If the limbs are placed flat, place the bottle cap steadily in the thick muscle area and use it.
(6) Bloodletting and cupping method: Suitable for boils and abscesses. The method is: first disinfect the local area with iodine or alcohol, then use a sterilized fine triangular needle to lightly puncture the affected area twice to release pus and blood, and immediately use the fire throwing method to cup the glass jar. If there is not much pus and blood oozing out, repeat one or two more times. Avoid large blood vessels when puncturing. The advantages of this method are to eliminate pus and blood and inflammatory exudates, reduce swelling and pain, and prevent spread."
