Bloodletting for Treatment: A Precise and Effective Method for Healing

November 29, 2023

After disinfecting the treatment area, according to the size of the lesion and the required amount of bleeding, first use a triangular needle to puncture from the outside to the inside, or use a plum blossom needle to tap the local area slightly to induce bleeding. Then, use a cupping jar to enhance the therapeutic effect of bloodletting. This method is widely used, but when applying this method, strict adherence to the requirements of bloodletting is necessary to avoid accidents. For example, when used for boils and abscesses, first disinfect the area with iodine or alcohol, and then use a sterilized fine triangular needle to superficially puncture the affected area to release pus and blood. Immediately use the flash cupping method to remove the glass jar. If there is not much pus and blood seeping out, repeat the process one or two more times to eliminate pus and inflammatory exudate, reduce swelling and pain, and prevent further spread.
