The medicine jar is used in the operation of cupping by adding an appropriate amount of corresponding medicine to form a medicine jar. The main methods are as follows.
1. Medicine ignition method: Soak some medicines (such as safflower, scorpion, etc.) in alcohol to make alcohol cotton balls. Hold the ignited cotton ball with tweezers, wrap it around the jar for 1-3 turns, remove the fire, and quickly put the jar on the area to be cupped, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
2. Medicine throwing method: Ignite flammable medicines (such as orange peel, agarwood, etc.) and throw them into the jar. Quickly put the jar on the pre-selected area, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
3. Medicine dripping method: Soak certain medicines (such as musk, nine-spice insect, papaya, millennium health, etc.) in anhydrous alcohol or white wine for a few weeks, and then drop 1-3 drops of the liquid into the jar. Shake it along the inner wall of the jar, ignite it with fire, and quickly put the jar on the area to be cupped, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
4. Medicine attachment method: Soak certain medicines (such as prickly ash, lobelia, etc.) in alcohol of appropriate size, and stick them on the 1/3 of the inner wall of the jar. Ignite it with fire, and quickly put it on the area to be cupped, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
5. Medicine rack method: First, place certain medicines (such as ginger, tortoise shell, etc.) on the area to be cupped, and then place a non-flammable object on top of it. Place 95% alcohol or alcohol cotton ball in it, ignite it with fire, and quickly put the jar down, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
6. Medicine boiling method: Prepare a mixture of certain medicines (such as chuanxiong, bai zhi, xuejie, xiaohuixiang, tumubie, ruxiang, moyao, wutou, duhuo, qianghuo, fangfeng, zelan, honghua, etc.) and wrap it in a cloth bag. Boil it in water for about half an hour, then put the intact bamboo jar in an aluminum pot and boil it for 1-3 minutes. Use tweezers to clamp the jar mouth downwards, shake off the water, place it quickly into a towel held in the other hand, absorb the water, and immediately put it on the area to be treated, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
7. Medicine vapor method: Place a kettle on a high heat, boil a mixture of water and medicine (such as sulfur, realgar, etc.) in the kettle, and let the steam spray out of the kettle spout. Hold the bamboo jar against the jet for 1-10 seconds, then take it out and quickly put it on the area to be cupped, so that it can be adsorbed on the skin.
