Sea powder, also known as red sea powder, sea vermicelli, and sea hanging noodles, is mentioned in the book "Introduction to Medicine". It is the egg mass belt of the sea hare Notarchus leachii cirrosus Stimpson, a member of the sea hare family. During the spawning period of sea hares in February to March and September to October, they attach themselves to bamboo poles or rocks in the intertidal zone.
