Camphor Wood, also known as Camphor, Fragrant Camphor Wood, and Blowing Wind Dispersion, is mentioned in the "Compendium of Materia Medica". It is the wood of the plant Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl in the family Lauraceae. It can be harvested throughout the year by peeling the bark off fallen camphor trees, cutting them into sections, and drying them.

[Processing Method] Take the original herb, remove impurities, brush off ash, cut into inch-long sections, and then plane them into shavings or split them into small pieces.

[Appearance of Herbal Pieces] Irregular shavings or small pieces, with a reddish-brown to dark brown surface. It is heavy and hard in texture. It has a strong camphor aroma and a cool sensation when tasted.

[Processing Functions] Camphor Wood has a pungent and warm taste. It belongs to the liver, spleen, and lung meridians. It has the functions of dispelling wind and dispersing cold, warming the middle and regulating Qi, activating blood circulation, and promoting meridian circulation. This herb is mostly used in cases of abdominal distension and pain, athlete's foot, gout, scabies, and bruises. Processing the herb makes it clean and facilitates the adjustment and dissolution of its components.
