Zhujun, also known as Nei Qiu Jun, Zhubao, and Zhujisheng, is a sub-seat of the fungus Engleromyces goetzi P.Henn. in the family Hypocreaceae, as recorded in "Chinese Medicinal Spore Plants". It can be harvested throughout the year and dried after picking.

[Processing Method] Take the original medicinal material, remove impurities, and sift out the ashes. Smash it when used.

[Appearance of the prepared slices] Slightly flattened spherical shape, with a diameter of 1.5 to 8 cm. The back is raised, and the base often has residual branches. The surface is yellow to light brown, smooth or slightly uneven. The body is light and loose. The transverse section is slightly fan-shaped, yellowish-white in color.

[Processing function] Zhujun has a bitter and cold taste. It has the function of clearing heat and detoxifying. This product is mostly used for pharyngitis, tonsillitis, parotitis, gastritis, gastric ulcer, nephritis, and unknown swelling and toxins. For example, when decocted with Daqingye, it can treat parotitis; when decocted with Youbing Shiwei and Yimucao, it can treat acute nephritis; when decocted with Xuchangqing, it can treat gastritis (as recorded in "Chinese Medicinal Spore Plants"). Processing improves the cleanliness of the medicine and facilitates dispensing and preparation.
