Yushuzhi, also known as yuzhi, is recorded in the book "Shengji Zonglu". It is the branch of the elm tree Ulmus pumila L. It is harvested in summer and autumn and can be used fresh or dried.
[Processing method] Take the original medicinal material, remove impurities, soak it slightly, wash it clean, moisten it, cut it into thick slices, and dry it.
[Appearance of the preparation] It is a round and thick slice, with a white-like surface and a small white medulla in the center, surrounded by a yellow-brown color. It has a slight aroma, a mild taste, and a slight astringency.
[Processing function] Yushuzhi has a sweet and mild taste and is neutral in nature. It has the function of diuresis and promoting urination. It is used for urinary disorders. For example, the Yuzhi soup is used to treat urinary disorders, urgent pain and fullness below the navel (from "Shengji Zonglu"). After processing, the medicinal material is clean, making it easy to adjust and dissolve the ingredients.
