Chinese Herbal Medicine Masks: Effective Treatment for Chloasma and Skin Beautification

Five White Gao Mask

Indications: Spleen-deficiency type chloasma. Symptoms include sallow complexion, pale brown spots, accompanied by fatigue, poor appetite, thin and clear vaginal discharge, and heavy menstrual flow.

Ingredients: 6g white Atractylodes, 6g white Angelica, 4.5g white Pueraria, 6g white Aconite, 4g white Clove, 3g Mitodong.

Preparation: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder and mix well.

Usage: Take a small amount each time, mix with egg white or white honey to make a thin paste. Clean the face before bedtime, apply the paste to the spots, and wash off in the morning.

Spot-removing Mask

Indications: Kidney-deficiency type chloasma. Symptoms include facial black spots, mainly distributed around the cheeks, lips, jaw, and eye sockets, accompanied by thin body, fatigue, dizziness, insomnia, frequent and red menstruation.

Ingredients: Equal amounts of white Bombyx Batryticatus, white Angelica, and Xixin, appropriate amount of human breast milk.

Preparation: Dry the above herbs, grind them into fine powder, and mix with human breast milk to form a paste.

Usage: Apply after cleansing the face before bed, and wash off in the morning.

Jade Beauty Powder Mask

Indications: Qi stagnation type chloasma. Symptoms include yellowish-brown spots on the face, mainly distributed around the cheeks, nose, and lips, with clear boundaries, accompanied by bitter taste in the mouth, chest tightness, irregular menstruation, and constipation.

Ingredients: 9g white Bombyx Batryticatus, white Aconite, white Angelica, Shannai, and Bensha, 15g gypsum, 15g talcum powder, 1g white Clove, 1g borneol.

Preparation: Grind the above ingredients into fine powder.

Usage: Mix with a small amount of water before going to bed, apply to the face, it is better to mix with human breast milk, and wash off with water in the morning.

Loofah Mask

Indications: Qi stagnation and blood stasis type chloasma. Symptoms include gray-brown or black-brown spots, accompanied by chronic liver disease or dark menstrual blood clots and dysmenorrhea.

Ingredients: 60g loofah.

Preparation: Dry the loofah and grind it into fine powder.

Usage: Mix with water and apply to the face before bed, wash off with warm water in the morning.

White Poria Cocos Mask

Indications: Spleen-deficiency type chloasma. Symptoms include pale brown spots, poor appetite, diarrhea, and fatigue.

Ingredients: 250g white Poria Cocos.

Preparation: Grind the white Poria Cocos into fine powder, sift it, and mix it with honey.

Usage: Apply to the face after cleansing every night, wash off with water after 3 hours.
