Can acne be squeezed or not

September 7, 2023
Whenever I see an acne patient and see the base of the pimple as red as the evening sun, I always say with a sigh of relief, "I told you not to squeeze, but you did it again! Eight out of ten would say, "I didn't squeeze it! It's just bad!" Eight out of ten would say, "I didn't squeeze it! It's just not good!" I would then sneer, "What's the use of lying to me? Seven out of eight patients would bow their heads in shame and pain. The remaining one would shout, "So what! Won't the beauty salon also give squeeze? Won't your hospital squeeze it too? How come I can't squeeze myself!"

Can acne be squeezed or not?

Is there really a pimple squeezing business?

Yes. For only $18.50, you can have me pick your pimples for half an hour. Acne squeezing, is a very common acne treatment. Acne is the precursor to inflammatory acne. As the normal sebum excretion pathway is impaired, sebum accumulates in the ducts and gradually dehydrates, forming a lipid plug that looks like a miniature grain of rice. Acne squeezing is a mechanical method of removing this grain of rice and restoring patency to the sebaceous ducts. This is indeed beneficial to the recovery of acne. It is performed in many regular beauty salons and hospital dermatology departments. But note that it is called "acne squeezing", which means that this is only suitable for acne, whiteheads or blackheads are fine. Once it becomes inflamed and turns into inflammatory acne, it can no longer be used. This is very understandable: you know that the area is combined with bacterial infection, and you still go to make a skin break, then it will not aggravate the infection?

How does acne squeezing work?

First, you have to have a pimple squeezer, which is this. Come on, now lie down. Disinfect it with 75% alcohol, take out my sterilized acne squeezer, and then one by one, use the tip of the squeezer needle to pick the top of the acne in the direction of the sebaceous ducts and rotate and squeeze around the acne to completely press out the sebum and stagnant sebum. I repeated this action as many times as there were pimples. When finished, it is disinfected again and wiped clean.

Is acne squeezing effective?

A fat plug left in the duct may not drain out naturally; left inside, it may also become inflamed. Therefore, removing it is certainly the right thing to do. However, the effective rate of treatment by acne squeezing alone is not satisfactory, and it is necessary to combine it with "mask inversion treatment" to receive better results. This "mask inversion" is not as simple as applying a mask at home. It is to be applied to the face according to individual needs, then massaged, then gauze is used to protectively cover the eyes and mouth, and a paste mixed with special inversion powder or medical plaster is used to paste your face. So, this paste will slowly exothermic in the process of hardening, it will make the drug ingredients that are put on at the very beginning to fully penetrate into the skin to achieve the purpose of treatment. As you have just done the needle picking, the hair follicle mouth is open, the absorption effect can be good. The actual fact is that you can find a lot of people who have been in the business for a long time. If you don't do any of these things, but just pick the pimples, you will see the follicle opening like a shocked mouth "O" open, staring at you in amazement, not understanding why you want to make them wider and bigger, giving bacteria the opportunity to fall in and reproduce.

Why can't you squeeze your own pimples?

You always squeeze as much as you want, and you don't disinfect it properly beforehand. You always squeeze the pimples that are not inflamed and then fixate on the pimples that are inflamed, and you can't stop. Your hands are not acne squeezers, and you cannot precisely control the direction of the puncture opening and squeezing force, which can cause damage to the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles. After squeezing, you still don't disinfect. If you accidentally squeeze and bleed, you have to use a napkin to wipe it, who said napkins can be disinfected? The napkin itself is not sterile ah. The actual fact is that you will not be able to cure your pimples by just squeezing out the pimples, there is a lot of follow-up work, sometimes with medication.

Never squeeze the pimples in the "danger triangle

Finally, be sure to remind everyone this point, the dangerous triangle of acne, do not squeeze. Suppose the inflamed pimple happens to be located in the danger triangle (as shown in the figure below). Since the veins here do not have venous valves and are connected to the skull, when squeezed, bacteria may break down into the blood vessels due to pressure and then enter the skull through the superficial veins in the face. In case of intracranial infection, it may be life-threatening. Classmates! Keep your hands to yourself!
