How the crow's feet are formed

April 14, 2023
Crow's feet is a kind of oxidation lines, usually occurring above 30 years old, and more obvious in middle-aged and elderly women. The wrinkles that appear between the corners of the eyes and the temples are very similar to the lines on the tail of a fish, so they are imaginatively called fishtail lines. The histological manifestations are structural changes caused by degenerative changes in the elastic fibers, mainly the orbicularis oculi muscle movement, in addition to the corners of the mouth, smile muscle and zygomatic muscle are also involved in their production. The skin appears dull, saggy and dry, and wrinkles are arranged in a radial pattern, varying in length, depth, number and shape from person to person. This is one of the characteristics of aging on the face. If fishtail lines appear on the face, they can never be covered up. So, how do crow's feet form?

Photoaging causes crow's feet

The damage to the skin caused by UV light from sunlight is very serious. It causes the fibroblast activity in the dermis to diminish or lose, making the collagen and elastic fibers in the dermis decrease and break, which leads to the decrease of skin elasticity and the increase of wrinkles around the eyes.

The natural aging of the body leads to crow's feet

With the natural aging of tissues and organs, the endocrine function decreases, the nutritional effect of the body on the small fibers of the muscle group and related cells starts to become weakened, the protein synthesis rate decreases, the number of small fibers of the muscle group decreases, resulting in the nervous system not being able to complete the fine expression of the skin, thus forming crow's feet.

Poor living environment leads to crow's feet

Unprotected exposure to dry and cold environment, too high wash water temperature, too rich and exaggerated expression, irregular sleep and living, smoking, etc. can lead to the loss of fiber tissue elasticity, thus accelerating the formation of crow's feet under the eyes.

Life stress leads to crow's feet

Too much stress in work and life, often sadness, crying will be involved in the eye muscles, which will easily make people produce crow's feet.
