Eight Chinese Medicine Diets for Treating Freckles and Nourishing the Skin in Spring

Freckles often occur on the face, neck, and other exposed areas of teenagers, especially in fair-skinned young women. The color is dark, and the size is like a pinhead or a grain of bean, resembling quail eggs, hence the name. It worsens in spring and summer, and fades in autumn and winter. The causes are related to genetics, endocrine, and sunlight exposure. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is mostly caused by liver depression and spleen deficiency, and liver and kidney insufficiency. The treatment should focus on nourishing the liver and kidneys, regulating the liver and invigorating the spleen. The following medicated diets can be used:

1. Walnut and Sesame Drink

30g walnuts, 20g sesame seeds, 200ml milk, 200ml soy milk, and an appropriate amount of white sugar. Grind the walnuts and sesame seeds into fine powder, mix them with milk and soy milk, boil and drink. Add white sugar for taste. Divide it into two portions, one in the morning and one in the evening, one dose per day. It can replenish deficiency, moisturize the intestines, and nourish the skin while fading freckles.

2. Black and White Freckle-Reducing Powder

10g black fungus, 5g white fungus. Grind the two fungi into fine powder, take 5g each time, three times a day. Mix with honey water and drink continuously for one month. It can eliminate stasis and transform freckles, moisturize the skin, and nourish the muscles.

3. White Duck Freckle-Reducing Soup

1 white duck, 200g Chinese yam, 100g raw Rehmannia root, 30g goji berries, and appropriate seasonings. Remove the feathers and bones of the white duck, wash it, rub the duck inside and outside with salt, pepper, and yellow wine, sprinkle with scallion and ginger, marinate for about 1 hour, then cut into small pieces. Slice the Chinese yam. Wrap the raw Rehmannia root in a cloth and place it at the bottom of a bowl. Then add the Chinese yam, goji berries, and duck pieces. Steam until cooked and consume. Take 2-3 doses per week. It can nourish the liver and kidneys, nourish yin, and fade freckles.

4. Goji Berry and Rehmannia Powder

100g goji berries, 30g raw Rehmannia root. Dry and grind the goji berries and raw Rehmannia root into powder, take 10g each time, three times a day. Drink with warm water or an appropriate amount of white wine, continuously for one month. It can nourish the liver and kidneys and remove dark spots.
