Location of Xuehai in Pediatric Massage

Bend the knee and locate Xuehai on the inner side of the thigh, 2 inches above the inner end of the patella, at the prominence of the inner head of the quadriceps femoris muscle. It belongs to the Spleen Meridian of Foot Taiyin.

Massage Techniques for Xuehai in Pediatric Massage

Apply force with the tip or the anterior 1/3 of the thumb, and knead Xuehai 10-30 times. This is called kneading Xuehai.

Use the thumb and the index or middle finger symmetrically to lift and hold, known as holding Bai Chong.

Functions of Xuehai in Pediatric Massage

Xuehai is located along the path of the Spleen Meridian, and it has the functions of promoting blood circulation, unblocking meridians, dispelling wind, relieving itching, invigorating the spleen, and transforming dampness. Therefore, it is effective in treating conditions such as wind rash, eczema, urticaria, knee pain, abdominal distention, and limb convulsions.

Special Massage Technique for Xuehai in Pediatric Massage

Place the thumb on Xuehai and knead it 50-100 times with the fingertip. Persistent massage every day can alleviate conditions such as eczema, urticaria, rebellious Qi, and abdominal distention.
