Lung Yu is located 1.5 cun beside the Du Meridian body column, below the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra. It is an acupoint of the Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian and is considered the back-shu point of the lung.
Massage techniques for Lung Yu in children
There are two techniques for massage on Lung Yu in children, namely rubbing and pushing (pushing the scapula separately).
Rubbing Lung Yu: Use one or both index fingers or middle fingers, apply pressure on the acupoints and rub them 50-100 times on both sides simultaneously.
Pushing Lung Yu: Use the thumb pads of both hands, apply pressure and push downward from the upper edge of the scapula on both sides, repeating the motion 100-300 times.
Rubbing Lung Yu: Use the thumb, index finger, and middle finger pads of three fingers to apply pressure and rub the acupoints until local heat is generated.

Use the thumb pad to rub Lung Yu in a clockwise direction for 50-100 times, then rub in a counterclockwise direction for 50-100 times. Persist in daily massage to relieve symptoms such as fever, cough, and runny nose.
